On May 25, 2022, Brad Giles, Global Field Support Manager at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, signed a Service Missionary Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Service Missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve at Lucky Sevan Retreats. We are grateful and proud to support the service efforts of these young adult missionaries in their unique service mission assignments.
Elders Hartley (pictured at left below in the middle) and Elder Brady (pictured below at right) became the first Service Missionaries to volunteer and serve as L7 Jr. Mentors—paving the way for future Service Missionaries to make an impact through leadership, mentorship, and Christ-centered service to our youth at our youth leadership retreats.
We are committed to upholding the values and standards of the Church as we continue to empower and uplift youth through faith-driven experiences.

The Lucky Sevan Foundation (L7) Youth Leadership Retreats are hosted at an exclusive group campsite within the San Onofre State Park. This location offers natural, primitive beauty and world-famous surf breaks.
As safety is paramount when serving our youth, this private campsite is accessible only through an extensive permitting process. Access is approved, granted, and funded by the Lucky Sevan Foundation upon meeting these strict requirements:
Dedicated Lifeguards: Cal State Parks Lifeguards are on duty for the entire duration of each 5-day L7 Retreat.
Comprehensive Insurance: Full General Liability & Accident Protection Insurance coverage is provided for all staff, volunteers, and participants.
Strict Screening: All L7 Junior & Adult Mentor Volunteers undergo an internal moral/ethical screening process and background checks to qualify for service.
This protected beach preserve allows participants to step away from their daily lives and find the perfect balance of physical and emotional challenge. It is a place to be still, reflect, and feel the Spirit of the Lord. Through meditation sessions, evening devotionals, and object lessons on the beach, teens gain a fresh perspective and experience true transformation.
