Through team-building activities, hands-on workshops, mentor-led discussions, and the shared and epic challenge of learning to surf, youth develop faith, communication, inclusion, trust, resilience, and self-confidence. Daily yoga and meditation, combined with spiritually uplifting evening devotionals grounded in gospel principles, help cultivate physical, social, spiritual, and intellectual disciplines —the foundational pillars of true strength and lasting growth that opens them more up to their divine and unlimited nature.

At the heart of Lucky Sevan is the belief that learning to ride ocean waves mirrors the journey of navigating life’s challenges. As participants learn to surf, they also learn perseverance, humility, courage, and self-reliance. They gain a deeper respect for themselves and others and begin to discover the most important contribution God’s Prophet has called them to make in the world today—“to help Gather Israel”.

Inspired by the example of Jesus Christ—the perfect embodiment of love, service, and leadership—we, too, teach that life’s greatest purpose is found in serving others. Youth come to know their Savior in a relatable, authentic, and unforgettable way, learning to access His Atonement and apply His principles in their daily lives. Empowered by faith and accountability, they gain the confidence to do hard things, make and keep sacred covenants, and actively participate in building God’s kingdom as they prepare for the Lord’s Second Coming.
