Parents
Lucky Sevan Foundation (L7) is an independent 501(c)(3), nonprofit, and faith-based organization which provides adolescents with experiences designed to get them out of their comfort zone and promote ongoing growth.
Brad Giles, Global Field Support Manager at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, signed a Service Missionary Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in May 2022 for Service Missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve at Lucky Sevan Retreats.
Inasmuch we are grateful over the years to continue to support the service efforts of these young adult missionaries in their unique service mission assignments in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, L7 is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or otherwise connected to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or any of its subsidiary entities.
While primarily a member-created board of local Christian congregational communities, the L7 youth leadership retreat experiences are open to ALL youth ages 14-19 of ALL faiths who are focused on or striving for serving their fellow man, open to instilling and strengthening core values, and building their own foundational beliefs to develop and strengthen a personal relationship with God.

L7 helps our youth overcome tough challenges:
Teens today have significant stumbling blocks to overcome. Pew Research recently found that “one in 10 adolescents have experienced major depression in the past year.” According to the CDC, in 2019, suicide was the second leading cause of death for high school youth bewtween the ages of 14 to 18.
The digital world is constantly battling for the attention of our youth, and with the isolation caused by the recent global pandemic, the fight to keep kids and youth in the real world is harder than ever. Social isolation has had devastating effects on everyone, but it has been particularly devastating on the youth.
Other challenges teens face include:
- Lack of self-confidence, self-worth, and self-image issues
- Social media, video game, and pornography addictions
- Anxiety, depression, and other mental health struggles
- Questions about gender identity, same sex attraction
- Prejudice and exclusion
The L7 Solution:
Since 2019, Lucky Sevan has been documenting the experiences of youth, mentors and leadership as they have dealt with the fallout of lock-downs and social distancing. We will continue to document the experiences of past and current participants because others can learn from and be inspired by their stories.
